Derek Leben
Derek Leben is the chair of the philosophy department and Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown.
His research focuses on the intersection between ethics, cognitive science, and emerging technologies. In his recent book, "Ethics for Robots: how to design a moral algorithm," Dr. Leben demonstrates how principles from traditional moral theories could be implemented into autonomous machines, such as driverless vehicles.
