Lucia Machová Urdzíková studied medicine in Medical faculty UPJŠ in Košice where she also received Ph.D. fom biology. She is now a Research Fellow at the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the Czech Academy of Sciences. She is focused on CNS regeneration using bio and nanotechnologies. She has also experience with the use of embryonic and adult stem cells in neuroregeneration.

From 2014 she is working as Ethics expert for Research executive agency of the European Commission. She is also working as Ethics Advisor for grants supported by European Commission. Her primary focus is on the ethics of bio and nanotechnologies and also the use of stem cells in the research.
